Having spent the past 8 years working as the Controller for a local division of one of the world’s largest producers of feed for the aquaculture industry, Laurie is excited to be returning to ANR on a full-time basis.
Laurie has been working in the bookkeeping, accounting, and business management fields since 1987, when she graduated from NBCC St Andrews as a bookkeeping clerk. She began her career as a bookkeeper and progressed, through a combination of training and experience, to the position of office manager. Having set her sights on earning her designation as a professional accountant, she began taking courses at UNB at night as a part-time student. When presented with the opportunity, she returned to NBCC full time, and then began her studies through CGA just prior to graduating. She achieved her designation as a Certified General Accountant in 2002, and then went on to complete her Bachelor degree (H) in Business Administration in 2007, with majors in both accounting and IT.
She has experience in a broad range of businesses, including not-for-profit organizations, construction, lumber, transportation, and aquaculture industries, as well as public practice as an accountant. When approached by Dave Archambault to join him in forming a partnership and opening an accounting practice in St Stephen, Laurie was thrilled to begin fulfilling her dream of using the skills and knowledge she had acquired to help other people become successful in their own businesses.
Laurie was vice-president of the Eastern Charlotte Chamber of Commerce for several years, and has been actively involved in the local chapter of CGA NB, having served several terms as president of the Saint John chapter. She has also served as a volunteer with Hospice of Charlotte for several years.
