The partnership of Archambault, Neathway and Rideout is coming up on its first anniversary in early February.  It isn’t the partnership’s first anniversary as Dave and Laurie operated the practice for 6 years prior to me joining last February, it more like my first anniversary.

When I joined the Partnership last year, I was looking to for something that I was not receiving as an employee.  That “something” was an outlet for my entrepreneural spirit.

I had some ideas about how a professional services firm (noticed I did not say accounting firm), should service its clients as well as approaching the market for professional services differently than I had become accustom to.   With Dave and Laurie, I found that outlet and here we are almost a year later implementing our plan for our firm’s future.

The past year of 2012 was year beyond our expectations from both a firm and a personal perspective and 2013 is shaping up to be a great year, as Dave will return to the practice on a full time basis.

One of the amazing things that I have realized over the past year (and frankly, it was something I was looking for) is that I am not only a Chartered Accountant and a Trust and Estate Practitioner, I am a business owner and I believe that has allowed me to grow from a professional standpoint.

There are risks and rewards that I am now responsible for, in the same manner as other business owners and our clients.

As I look forward to 2013, there are numerous aspects of our practice that we are looking to tackle and one of the most important is our website and social media which I am responsible for.  The goal of the firm is to have a website that our clients utilize and can find relavent information.  It will not be a website that sits out in cyberspace collecting dust.

Each week, either myself, Dave or Laurie will be posting a blog on relevant accounting, tax, tax planning, trust and estate planning information as well as other matters such as the challenges we face as business owners.  I know what you are thinking, here are some boring accountants trying to blog, that will be as interesting as watching grass grow, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Over the coming weeks, my hope is that our website will become a tool for individuals and business owners to access important information that can assist them in their business or personal lives.

If there is a topic you would like us to post some information on, utilize our contact section of the site to let us know what you would like to see.

I better get back to work as the beans are starting to pile up in my office…
